After taking down the Seattle Sounders for a sweet victory,

the red-hot Portland Timbers are back at Providence Park to take on the lower-ranked Vancouver Whitecaps in search of another three points.

If they can claim their next win

they’ll catapult past both the Seattle Sounders and LA Galaxy and land themselves into 7th place in the Western Conference standings.

The Timbers will look to clinch their second win over the Whitecaps this season

when they face them at home tonight – and with a win or draw, they could eliminate Vancouver from cup contention.

The team hasn’t lost since returning from international duty back in March;

they’ve won three times and drawn twice, scoring eleven goals while conceding just four.
